It’s not a funny joke. The real Brazil is much more than Rio but it’s not only poverty.
It isn’t really meant to be funny, more sarcastic and confronting.
The part of the city you see in the picture is where recycling is executed to the last piece of garbage.. so that is good in a way.
The award winning documentary “Waste Land” is a must see to understand it… Go and see it 🙂
But I still think the post title is offensive. We don’t want to hide this kind of place from foreign people but they must know that Brazil is so much more than this. Maybe a little explanation below the picture would solve it.
I’ve changed the title to Waste Land. We’ve posted many photos from Brazil from very nice locations and we’ve posted the same type of image from most other countries too. I think Nummie gave a good explanation as to why this image was interesting.

It is really interesting to post this image here and show people the situation of Jardim Gramacho and give the chance to those who didn’t watch the movie to be aware of it. I just thought the title post wasn’t fair.
