Great news from India. Google have announced they are starting to take images for Google Maps Street View today. First city Street View cars will visit is Bangalore. It is often described as the IT capital of India.
In addition to the cars, the Google Trike – a specially designed three-wheel pedi-cab with a camera system mounted on top – will start gathering images from select locations in the area such as the Nrityagram Dance Village over the next few weeks. (IndiaTimes)
No time frame has been specified as to when images will be available to the public. Images from India will likely not be available on Google Maps until next year as it usually takes a couple of months to be released. Hopefully there will be images from more cities than Bangalore soon too.
As you may have heard Google Maps Street View is also coming to Poland.
