Google Maps Street View is finally coming to major cities in Germany. You will be able to see panorama images from 20 german cities on Thursday this week.
It will be available in: Berlin, Bielefeld, Bochum, Bonn, Bremen, Dortmund, Dresden, Duisburg, Düsseldorf, Essen, Frankfurt am Main, Hamburg, Hannover, Köln, Leipzig, Mannheim, München, Nürnberg, Stuttgart and Wuppertal.
Google are already warning germans that there may be some houses visible, despite owners requesting them not to be. In case there is such an error, they promise to fix it as soon as possible.
I can’t wait to see my hometown Stuttgart on Streetview 🙂
I’m sure you will also find and post some funny scenes in Germany.
Hope Google will release the rest of Germany till end of year.
Regards
This will be nice–thank you Google! Hopefully the entire country will be visible someday. So many of Germany’s smaller towns and cities are also noted for their architecture and historical and cultural landmarks (Luebeck, Celle, Rostock, and several of the alpine towns, just to name a few.) In fact, it seems that just about every town has it’s medieval or renaissance stone, brick, half-timbered, wooden, or painted stucco building, often several of them. For a history and architectural buff such as myself this would really be exciting. It might increase tourism too! 🙂
BTW, I just checked and the streetviews are now up!
